LET GO OF YOUR PAST – YOUR FREEDOM IS NOW

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when you realize this truth: you’re holding the key in your hand. The prison doors are open. You don’t have to stay stuck. You don’t have to keep reliving what broke you. But until you walk out by faith, you’ll stay trapped by what was—never entering what could be.

🔥 Egypt Is Not Your Home

Let’s go back to one of the most iconic deliverance stories in the Bible: the Israelites being set free from Egyptian bondage. God delivered them from slavery—but when the wilderness got tough, they longed to go back. Why? Because bondage was familiar. Pain, at least, was predictable.

“We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.” – Numbers 11:5

They forgot the beatings. They forgot the chains. They forgot the bricks without straw. All they remembered was what they missed—because trauma distorts your memory, and fear makes you nostalgic for dysfunction.

Don’t go back to Egypt. God didn’t bring you out just to let you die in the wilderness. He brought you out to bring you in. Into purpose. Into promise. Into your prophetic destiny.

🧠 3 Reasons People Stay Stuck in the Past

God wants you FREE. But many people stay stuck in cycles of the past because of these three reasons:

1. Spiritual Strongholds

There are times when open doors give the enemy legal access to our lives. Demonic oppression (and yes, even possession) is real. The enemy doesn’t always need to possess your soul—he just wants to derail your purpose.

Jesus said it clearly:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy...” – John 10:10

Strongholds are fortified lies you believe. They’re powered by spirits of fear, rage, rejection, shame, and a foreboding spirit—that feeling that something bad is always going to happen. But the Bible says:

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7

“You are snared by the words of your mouth.” – Proverbs 6:2

Your thoughts become words. Your words become actions. Actions become habits. Habits become your character. The enemy knows this, so he starts with a lie and hopes you’ll meditate on it.

But today, God is doing heart surgery. As you read this, I declare every stronghold is coming down in Jesus’ name.

2. Lack of Resolution

Without resolution, the heart stays open and raw. We try to heal without closure. We revisit toxic relationships, hoping something changes, but cycles repeat because we never truly decided to move on.

Even in relationships, God allows space, and yes, sometimes separation is holy. God may take it apart so He can rebuild it correctly. Fighting for your marriage is honorable—but only when safety, healing, and mutual surrender are present.

God gives you the right to choose freedom. He’ll never force you to stay in trauma.

Resolution is a gift. It gives you the power to say, “That season is over.

3. Lack of Repentance & Humility

This is where the enemy gets sneaky. Pride creeps in. We start blaming others. We spin stories to protect our image. We can’t admit we’ve hurt people. And a victim mentality takes root.

What is a victim mentality?

It’s when you:

Always see yourself as the wounded one

Refuse to take accountability

Believe life is always happening to you, never for you

Use past pain as an excuse for present dysfunction

Pride is at the root. And the Bible says:

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” – James 4:6

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray…” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

Healing begins when we own our story, repent for our part, and stop waiting for someone else to change. Jesus is drawn to the humble. When you fall on the Rock, it breaks you. But if you resist, the Rock will fall on you.

Choose humility.

🧎🏽 You Can Be Free Without Breaking All Ties

Freedom doesn’t mean you have to walk away from everyone in your past. But it does mean breaking the toxic cycles that made those relationships toxic.

You can walk in love. You can forgive. You can heal, even if they don’t change.

You don’t have to settle for conditional love or manipulative attachments.

Only God’s love can heal that wound.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted.” – Luke 4:18

Healing is a journey. Like peeling back an onion—layer by layer, tear by tear. But God is with you. He’ll never leave you or forsake you.

🔥 Praise Your Way Out

Let me remind you of another story. Paul and Silas were imprisoned. Shackled. But what did they do?

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God… and suddenly there was a violent earthquake, and all the prison doors flew open.” – Acts 16:25-26

Praise changes the atmosphere. When you’re down to nothing, God is up to something.

Don’t wait until you feel free—praise like you’re already free. Because you are.

✨PROPHETIC DECLARATION:

“God, I give You my heart. Heal every broken place. Close every door that needs to be shut. Tear down every stronghold. Uproot every lie. I renounce trauma, bitterness, fear, and shame. I walk out of Egypt. I will not go back. I receive Your healing love. I declare my story matters, and I’m stepping into freedom—right now. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
